Consignment

Interested in consigning with us?

We are happy to announce that we are offering consignment now! Please review:

  • Contract

  • We have now switched over to a new point of sale system called Ricochet! One of the wonderful things about Ricochet is that consignors each get their own login (please contact Gail for your login), can very easily enter their items and it goes directly to our system. We are then able to print off labels instantly, and have them ready for you when you bring your items in! Please just send us an email or call to let us know when you will be in so that we can make sure the labels are ready. Another cool aspect is that consignors can login at any time and check the status of their consignment! Once your account has been set up, you can login with your credentials at: https://upliftingthrifting.ricoconsign.com/login

  • Aren't sure how to price your items? Check out our "baseline" prices in the store here. Please keep in mind, this is our pricing for "average" products, if you have anything that is high quality, upscale brand, etc, please use your best judgement and adjust accordingly.

  • We now require appointments if you are choosing not to enter your own items into Ricochet. Appointments are available Thursday-Sunday afternoons, please email upliftingthriftinguv@gmail.com or call the store (802-281-8700) to set up an appointment. No appointment is required if you enter your own items into Ricochet, but please make sure you allow yourself enough time to attach price tags and hang your items when you arrive at the store.

  • Please read the contract carefully to make sure that you are only bringing in items that we accept and are ready to display (excellent quality, in season, clean, etc). I have recently updated the contract after some lessons learned in our first year of consigning. The changes are not meant to be harsh; I just need to make sure that consignors are abiding by the agreement so that I still have time away from the store to spend with my family. I have spent a lot of time doing extra work for consignment over the last few months and while I do not mind a little extra work to have some really nice products in the store, it does not make sense for me to spend hours preparing consignment items when the store only gets to keep 50% of the profits. I just need to make sure that my time is being spent wisely so that my happy heart project keeps making my heart happy :-) I do not pay myself a cent for what I do for Uplifting Thrifting, and I have two jobs that I work outside the store that pay my bills so that I can help others, plus I have a husband, three children and two dogs, so I respectfully request that you do not take advantage of my kindness. I love helping people and have a really hard time saying no, so please be mindful of that and do your part when consigning with me. Thank you so much for your consideration!!

  • Tips for entering items into Ricochet:

    1. At an absolute minimum, please include brand, size and color/pattern (clothing), and as much detail as you can for other items - this is for YOUR benefit in case the tag gets separated from your item and we need to try to match it up again.

    2. Change the in-stock date of your item to the day you intend to bring it in - this is to ensure that you do not miss out on any full-price days.

    3. Do not forget to type "ND" in the short description field if you are not donating the item at the end of the cycle. All items that you want back need to be picked up within 3 business days of them timing out, otherwise they will become property of Uplifting Thrifting.

    4. Reminder - we do not accept items that are under $5 for children's clothing, $7 for adult clothing and $6 for anything else (housewares, athletic equipment, etc). Feel free to bundle and/or make outfits to get over this threshold.
